A questioning I got from @PaulSolt inspired this video.
Currently WishKit is at $1k MRR. But in the early days, I had about a hundred users but weeks went by without a single one paying for premium. Until I made one change.
Instead of offering the core-feature entirely for free.
I used it as hook.
The free tier allows you to use WishKit for free forever and it provides value because you can see feedback and votes. But only your first 5.
That’s often enough for people starting out who also don’t want to commit yet to a paid plan. But as they get more and more feedback. The hook starts to kick in.
The dashboard would tease you with “you have 17 more feedbacks. Upgrade to view them.”
That’s immediate and guaranteed value they can get with one click of a button.
Once I introduced the limit of 5, and with that reduced the exposure of my core feature, I gained my first customer ✌🏻😊
