My August #buildinpublic report for @SenjaHQ
We hit $76,000 MRR
Thoughts
1. It's a slog. Our churn rate is the same but the absolute number continues to grow. Replacing churned users is getting harder and harder.
2. I was hoping to add $4,000 net MRR, but hit $2,000. At our peak we were at > $5,000 net a month.
3. I wake up most days hoping for some sort of escape velocity: an infinitely scalable marketing channel. I don't know if that's in the future for Senja. It seems slow, steady, compound growth is our journey.
4. I think we can get churn < 4% now that I have a new engineer in place. He's doing an incredible job of responding to customers and ensuring a better customer experience in future.
5. We have started scaling marketing including using discounts to drive upgrades. Revenue for this activity will show on next month's report.
6. Do we have a positioning problem, a too-small addressable market, or something else?
7. We're still above 80% YOY so perhaps I am being too hard on myself.
