Docsbot Surpasses $1M ARR
DocsBot, a B2B SaaS for building custom chatbots, has reached $1 million ARR. This milestone marks a significant achievement for Aaron Edwards, highlighting the success of his solopreneur journey.

Original Announcement
Luck is merely persistence finally paying off. Here’s every business I tried to start: 11 failures, 1 big win!
- babybookbuilder.com (2005): basically Shutterfly/Snapfish, but not enough skills then to build it
- MissionsPlace: taught myself to code for this, MySpace for missionaries. Only made enough to pay for itself
- Infinite Uploads (2020): first SaaS. grew to $2k MRR, how I learned the marking was more important than building. Aquired Big File Uploads to add value. Sold in 2024 for 2.5x.
- Unnamed GPT-3 WordPress content creation plugin/SaaS (summer 2021): Never could get access to OpenAI API (had to know someone back then). Glad I didn't when ChatGPT was invented 1yr later!
- Imajinn AI WordPress plugin/SaaS 2022: new to first decent AI img model Stable Diffusion. $75 MRR peak, still $38. Also first viral tweet!
- Pivot to Imajinn AI B2B SaaS: for finetuned images using new Dreambooth. 3 weeks too early compared to @levelsio & @dannypostmaa viral PFP makers as I had to build my own GPU inference from scratch w/no providers available. Still made $10k in 3 months. Never took off for product photos
- AI Sneaker Generator: leadgen free tool, tried to monitize with affiliate of custom sneaker designer
- AI product photo free tool: lead gen for Imajinn AI
- AI Children's book: Made over 1 sleepness week with wife (author/design) to launch in time for Christmas. Despite many attempts at social virality, paid ads, a cover feature in Dallas local magazine and a live feature on Dallas' Good Morning Texas, only a few $k in sales.
- AI Printed Couples Photos: Use Imajin AI finetuning to get a cool AI painted canvas shipped. Made for valentines day, failed to market profitably with paid ads. $200 in revenue.
- ChatWP: first attempt at RAG for customer support. Trained on WordPress docs. Managed to go a bit viral, and it proved need + created a waitlist for a new SaaS.
- DocsBot (Feb 2023): B2B SaaS for building custom chatgpt's for your business for customer support or internal use cases. Released same week as ChatGPT API went live, one of first 3 in the category. Went viral in Japan. Now $1 million ARR and my full time job!
The idea matters less than the at-bats. Keep swinging, because one well-timed hit changes everything. Every failure gave me the skills and experience to be ready when the perfect pitch finally came.
